The Alexandria girls hockey team snapped a 4-game losing streak with a 5-2 win over the Sartell-Sauk Rapids-Rice Storm at home on Tuesday.
After each team scored a goal in the first frame, the Cardinals (8-9-1, 5-3-1 Section 8AA) outscored the Storm (4-13-1, 0-4 Section 8AA) 4-1 in the final two frames to secure the win.
Kennedy Ellingson scored the game's first goal for Alexandria, while Jada Waldorf and Lauren Maras (a Franklin Pierce commit) scored in the second.
Sophia Korynta and Ella Westlund scored in the third frame for Alexandria.
Westlund and Korynta, along with Kylie Lattimer, and Emma Ramstorf had assists for Alexandria in the win.

The Cardinals had a 48-22 shot on goal advantage in the win.
Hunter Sellnow had 20 saves for the Cardinals in the win.
Alexandria is now 7-0-1 in Central Lakes Conference games and have the best conference record in the CLC.
Alexandria hosts North Wright County (7-8) on Thursday at 7:15 p.m.
Cardinal boys fall to St. Cloud Cathedral
The St. Cloud Cathedral Crusaders have won five out of its last six games after defeating Alexandria 5-1 on Tuesday.
Alexandria (2-10-1) got on the board early with a goal by Tyler Kludt (assist by Joe Lamski) 1:17 into the game.
But St. Cloud Cathedral scored five unanswered goals to seal the win.
The Crusaders scored once in the first frame and twice in the second and third frame.

The Crusaders (8-6) had a 30-22 shot on goal advantage in the game.
