The Osakis girls basketball team ended the regular season on a high note with a 54-31 win on the road over Pillager (12-14) on Monday.

"This was a great last regular season game for the girls,” Osakis head coach Pat Kalpin. “From the start, they played really hard on both ends of the court. We were able to adjust to the different defenses we saw throughout the game and take care of the ball. On the defensive end, I thought we adjusted well to their speed and worked hard, and we also rebounded well in the game. It was an overall good last game for the girls going into section play. We are really proud of their effort and look forward to section play beginning on Thursday night in Kimball."

Taylor Dirkes led the offense with 18 points, while Carlee Muenzhuber had 13, and Kiley Kranz had 12 points.

Osakis held Pillager to just eight second half points.

Osakis (12-13, 1-5 Section 6AA) is the No. 12 seed in the Section 6AA tournament and plays at the No. 5 seed Kimball Area (16-8, 7-3 Section 6AA) on Thursday at 7:15 p.m.
