The Alexandria dance team competed in the Section 4AA meet on Saturday at Sauk Rapids-Rice High School and had some success.

Alexandria placed ninth in the jazz competition and eighth in high kick out of 15 teams.

“The girls had season best performances, had great attitudes throughout the day, encouraged each other, were focused, and ended the season in the most perfect way,” Alexandria head coach Jalen Arnold said. “The teams that beat us, we expected them to beat us, and all the teams we beat, we were hoping to beat, and we did. It was a fantastic day for our team.”

Sauk Rapids-Rice won the jazz competition, while Rocori won the high kick. The state meet berths were claimed by Sauk Rapids-Rice, Becker and Rocori.

The dance program has its final show scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 12, at 1 p.m. at Alexandria High School, where the varsity and junior varsity teams will compete.
