The Brandon-Evansville boys basketball team, who is the No. 7 seed in Section 6A-South, gave the No. 2 seed Border West a tough battle in a playoff game on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, but Border West pulled through to win 70-59.

“I love how hard we played against one of the best teams in the section,” B-E head coach Trent Hintermeister said. “We followed our game plan and kept it close the entire game. We made them work for what they got and played the game we wanted to play. They took a little bit better care of the ball than we did and they made a few more shots. I am so proud of this year's team and our improvements from start to finish.”

This game was the final game for B-E seniors, Aaron Gillespie, Brady Perleberg, Dezmond White, Kian Gackle, and Nathan Anderson.

“I cannot thank the five seniors enough for what they did this year,” Hintermeister said. “Aaron, Brady, Dezmond, Kian, and Nathan showed up daily and gave us everything they had. I'm thankful for them and know they will go on to do great things in life.”

White crossed the 1,000 career points threshold in the game, and he led B-E (6-21) in scoring with 22 points. Micah Fuller added 19 points.
