The Alexandria boys and girls hockey teams are hosting a doubleheader tonight, Tuesday, Feb. 8 where fans can help out an Alexandria family.
Jack Albert is a 10-year-old squirt player in Alexandria’s youth hockey program. On Jan. 24, he was diagnosed with Stage IV Burkitt’s lymphoma. Jack is currently receiving inpatient care at the Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis.
The Cardinals are hosting a fundraiser at the Runestone Community Center on Tuesday where all the proceeds from the night will go to the Albert family to help with medical expenses. There will be a $1 chuck-a-puck, and $10 raffle tickets on sale.
Raffle drawings after the girls game include prize packages of a “pamper your hockey mom” and “I love Alexandria” baskets. Drawings before the third period of the boys game will include “Yeti Tailgate” and Milwaukee Tailgate” baskets, along with a dinner for four prize at Pike and Pint restaurant in Alexandria.
The Albert family will also be recognized between the girls and boys game.

The Alexandria girls (12-10-1) will face Bemidji (4-18) with a 5:15 p.m. drop of the puck. The boys game is scheduled to start at 7:15 between the 12-6-1 Cardinals and St. Cloud (6-11-3).
