Pipestone ends Minnewaska's run in the 3-2A playoffs

Sam Hested and Hunter Johnson lead the Lakers' offense with two hits apiece.

Pipestone ended the Minnewaska baseball team’s season on June 3 in Marshall as the Arrows (16-8) won an elimination game in the Section 3-2A tournament in a 7-3 final.

The Lakers (13-10) grabbed a 3-2 lead with a three-run bottom of the fourth inning, but Pipestone immediately answered with four runs in the top of the fifth. Sam Hested and Hunter Johnson both had two hits as part of eight total hits for Minnewaska.

Darion Alexander has been good for the Lakers on the mound, but he took the loss on Thursday. Alexander went 4 2/3 innings, allowing six hits and five walks while striking out six. Just three of Pipestone’s seven total runs were earned as three Lakers’ errors proved costly.

Dawson Kellen got the win for the Arrows on the mound. He went all seven innings, walking nobody, striking out three and scattering eight hits.
