Alexandria Industries set a lofty goal for its 13th annual Fishing for the Cure ice fishing challenge Saturday afternoon on Smith Lake.

The event, which raises money for the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life, was initially organized by the company's employees. In the years since it has swelled to where 1,351 people participated in last year's challenge.

That one raised $57,500 to help fight cancer, and this year Alexandria Industries set a goal of raising $100,000.
