Baxter resident Jason Fugate holds the unfinished mount of his rare golden bigmouth buffalo fish he bow fished in April. Now at Wild North Taxidermy, the 32.8-pound, 36-inch fish created a lot of attention because of its estimated 100-year age and rarity. Fugate, who struggles with a rare illness, sees the fish as a good sign of things to come in his family’s future. Steve Kohls / Forum News Service
