The Osakis tennis team celebrated a senior group that has helped make this program a model of consistency as the Silverstreaks improved to 6-0 in the process on Sept. 11.
Osakis dominated another match, this time beating Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa by a 7-0 final.
“Today was our senior recognition day as we recognized the achievements of our senior class members Brittany Dietrich, Tia Dykema, Jayden Hensley, Sydney Rach, Kadyn Triebenbach, and Helena Zajac,” head coach Ryan Maddock said. “Our community is proud of their accomplishments as outstanding student athletes for our school. They have helped lead us in practice and matches to an outstanding season so far this year.”
Rach and Triebenbach teamed up at first doubles to help Osakis to the sweep. They won 6-0, 6-2 as part of a Silverstreaks’ doubles lineup that dropped just three games combined. The duos of Lexi Spychalla and Zajac and Dietrich and Hensley rolled to wins, as well.
Dykema did what she’s done most of her career by rolling through an opponent at first singles in a 6-0, 6-0 final. Mara VanNyhuis dropped just two games in her second-singles win, and Larissa Hoffarth added to the sweep with a 6-0, 6-0 win at third singles.
