Events of all kinds have been canceled in the Douglas County area due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the annual Osakis Lions Club Walleye Tournament set for this month has been added to that list.
The fishing tournament is used as a primary fundraiser for the Osakis Lions Club, and the group was set to host anglers for the 40th year before deciding to cancel the event to ensure the safety for all potential participants and organizers.
The Lions Club plans on jumping back into hosting the tournament again next year on June 19.
