The Osakis softball team is showing no signs of slowing down. On Thursday night, the Silverstreaks took home a 13-3 victory over the Dutchmen.

A nine-run first inning carried the Osakis offense to a five-inning win. Walks from Lexi Klimek, Shelbe Schmidt, Maggie Dirkes, Hayleigh Niehoff and Kali Schoeck. Tia Dykeman also singled in the inning for one of her three hits.

Schmidt took the rubber for the Silverstreaks and lasted 2.1 innings. Niehoff came in for relief to close out the game. The two tallied five total strikeouts and allowed only three hits.

“We did a good job keeping our hitting zones,” Osakis head coach John Stigman said. “Their pitcher struggled to find the plate early. Our pitchers had a nice combine win. Defensively, we played very solid with the gloves.”
