A three-run fourth inning propelled the Osakis softball team to its third straight win on Thursday night.

Senior Tia Dykema was 4-for-4 at the plate with a second-inning home run and double in the fourth and fifth innings.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, RBIs from Senior Laynee Hartshorn, sophomore Shelbe Schmidt and junior Lexi Klimek gave the Silverstreaks an eight-run lead. EV-W put up five runs in the top of the seventh inning, but the comeback came up one run short.

Schmidt led Osakis on the pitching rubber and threw five innings. She gave up six runs on eight hits and stuck out four batters. Niehoff threw the final two innings to preserve the win.

Along with Dykema’s home run, senior Grace Oeltjen went deep in the bottom of the third inning. Osakis had 13 hits on the day, including multi-hit games from Dykema, Oeltjen and Hartshorn.
