Osakis brought home two first-place team finishes at the Loing Prairie track and field invite on Thursday afternoon.

The boys team racked up 186 team points behind Stewart Jones' big day. He took first place in the 100-meter hurdles (17.38), 300-meter hurdles (43.06), long jump (18-02,75) and triple jump (30-05.25).

"Stewart continues to impress," Osakis head coach Lee VanNyhuis said. "He popped a big triple jump last night. We saw some good improvements from last week, especially in the relays."

The Silverstreaks won seven out of eight relay races on Thursday, with the girls sweeping all four events. Being able to compete as a team is what's been so exciting about the early part of the season.

"We saw a lot of smiles and laughter during the meet," Van Nyhuis said. "The kids were very supportive of each other and cheering each other on today. It's just kids having fun together. That's what we really missed last year. It's good to have that back."
