Northstar Christian Academy 16's drop final game of inaugural season to Shattuck

A pair of goals weren't enough as the Knights fell to Shattuck St. Mary's in final game of the regular season.

The Northstar Christian Academy 16U hockey team finished its inaugural season last Wednesday with a hard-fought loss to the famed Shattuck St. Mary’s program.

After SSM struck first, Northstar forward Anthony McIntosh tied the game with an unassisted goal. SMM scored 20 minutes later on its way to bringing home a 5-2 win.

Calber Elfering scored the second goal for the Knights with assists from Luke Schelter and McIntosh. CJ Kier took the loss in goal.

The 16U team finished its season with a 34-15-4 record. Schelter led the team in points with 26 goals and 24 assists to go just under a point-per-game average. Kier was 21-8 between the pipes with a 2.11 goals-against average and a .923 save percentage.

The scheduled 18U game was not played last Wednesday due to Shattuck St. Mary's having to quarantine due to a COVID-19 case.
