Minnewaska notches first wins of the season in home showcase

The Lakers went 2-1 in their home showcase to secure first two wins of the 2021 season.

The Minnewaska softball team picked up its first two wins of the season by going 2-1 in a home showcase on Saturday.

The Lakers closed out the afternoon with a 14-4 win over Ottertail Central. Every Minnewaska hitter in the starting lineup recorded a hit including multi-hit games from Grace Larson, Brenna Larson, Rylee Metz, Leah Hagen and Olivia Richards. Mikalya Martin and Makenna Panitzke each doubled in the win.

Brenna Lasrson gave up three runs on seven hits and struck out two batters in the win.

Minnewaska also beat Breckenridge 5-0 and lost to Brandon-Evansville 12-1 on Saturday.
