Junior legion teams host tournament at Knute

The Alexandria junior legion baseball teams will host a tournament this Friday through Sunday as eight teams play at Knute Nelson Ballpark.

Pool A consists of Alexandria Red, Elk River, Worthington and New Ulm, while Alexandria Black, Sleepy Eye, Marshall and Blaine make up Pool B.

Alexandria Red kicks off the tournament on Friday morning at 9 when it hosts Elk River. The Red play again at 8:30 Friday night against Worthington, while Alexandria's Black only game on Friday is at 6 p.m. against Sleepy Eye.

Saturday's action starts with Alexandria Black taking on Marshall at 9 a.m. Alexandria Red plays New Ulm at 6 on Saturday night and Alexandria Black wraps up its pool play with a game against Blaine at 8.

Sunday's games will feature four contests with the fourth-place teams from each pool playing each other at 9 a.m. The third place teams play at 11, second-place teams at 1:30 p.m. and the top teams from each pool battle for the championship at 3:30.
