The Alexandria Nordic ski teams were in Detroit Lakes for the second time this season on Tuesday as the Cardinals skied in a 3-loop race.
“Temps hovered around the 0-degree mark,” Alexandria head coach Jeremy Rapp said. “But we were able to spike to about 10, which made for slow snow.”
Bemidji, Moorhead, Fergus Falls, Little Falls, Detroit Lakes, Brainerd, TrekNorth and Wadena-Deer Creek joined the Cardinals at the meet.
The Alexandria girls finished fourth as a team with 347 points. Brainerd won with 387, and Bemidji was second at 374.
Jaelyn Miller had Alexandria’s best varsity finish as she took fourth individually in a time of 16:22. Amanda Bergerson was 14th (17:42) and Kasey Soderholm added top-20 finish in 16th place (18:07). Dulce Bakker (23rd, 18:52), Bobbi Nichols (27th, 19:07), Mackenzie Jurchenko (28th, 19:08), Lauren Englund (34th, 19:46) and Teresa Bitzan (43rd, 21:15) also skied in the varsity meet for the Cardinals.

The Alexandria boys were sixth as a team with 283 points, while Brainerd won with 374 and Little Falls was second with 365.
Ryker Bosek led the Alexandria boys in 14th place with a time of 13:47. Spenser Chinn was 24th in 14:54, and Max Chinn was 33rd in 15:29. Cyler Coauette (50th, 17:04), Owen Gilbertson (53rd, 17:43), Nick Borden (54th, 17:59) and Matthew Johnson (57th, 19:02) rounded out the boys’ varsity lineup.

Greta Oldenkamp led the Alexandria girls' junior varsity team with a fourth-place finish in a time of 13:55 on a shorter course than the varsity skiers raced. Trey Johnson led the Alexandria junior varsity boys in 23rd place with a time of 12:53.
