The Brandon-Evansville football team celebrated a Pheasant Conference South co-championship season recently at its annual awards banquet.
The Chargers received plenty of recognition by the Pheasant Conference for their efforts. Six players were named all-conference, including James Huisman, Will Schroeder, Christian McGaffey, Skyler Quinn, Jon Thoennes and Brandon Christianson.
Tom Bosek and McKenon Plaster also earned all-conference honorable mention awards.
Huisman was named the MVP back of the Pheasant Conference after finishing with 1,455 rushing yards. Head coach Tim Pattrin was selected as the conference’s coach of the year.
In the Chargers’ team awards, Huisman was also named the MVP running back. The team’s MVP lineman was Schroeder, Rookie of the Year was James Strese, MVP of the special teams was Kevin Campbell, Scout of the Year was Jake Hintermeister and the recipient of the Dallas Hanson “Desire” Award was McGaffey.
Brandon-Evansville was also recognized as an Academic All-State Gold Team. The Chargers finished the 2014 season with a 6-4 overall record, including a 3-1 mark against Pheasant Conference South teams.
