The Alexandria Blizzard salvaged a split with the best team in the West Division on Saturday.
After falling 4-1 to North Iowa (19-5, 38 points) on Friday, Alexandria (10-13-1, 21 points) came back and won a 4-2 game against the Bulls a night later. North Iowa outshot Alexandria 40-30 on Saturday, but the Blizzard made good on their best chances.
Colin Tushie was the catalyst as he scored two goals -- one in the second period to tie it at 1-1 and one in the third to take a 3-2 lead. Caleb Strong and Nikolai Rajala also had goals for Alexandria, while Caden Smith and Max Savalojoa scored for the Bulls.
Cole Lehmann, Wyatt Johnson, Tushie, Carter Rieland, Dallas Duckson, Jered Sanborn (2) and Sean Kenny all added assists for the Blizzard.
Joey Greilich was good in net with 38 saves to get the win for Alexandria.
The Blizzard have three straight road games now, going to Granite City on Feb. 17 before games at North Iowa on Feb. 20 and 21.
