West-Division leading North Iowa (19-4, 38 points) is where it is in the division because it knows how to finish games. The Bulls did that again on Friday night in a 4-1 win over the Alexandria Blizzard.
Sota Isogai scored for North Iowa at 14:23 of the second period, but Alexandria's Caleb Strong answered off of Sean Kenny and Nikolai Rajala assists at 17:42 to tie the game going into the third. It was all North Iowa in the final frame as the Bulls got goals from Isogai, Carson Jones and Hutson Collins to secure the win.
North Iowa outshot Alexandria 47-27, including 16-8 in the third period. Evan Babekuhl got the win in net with 26 saves, while Kelly Atticus took the loss for the Blizzard despite 43 saves.
These two teams are back at the Runestone Community Center Saturday night at 7:10 for the finale in this two-game series.
