The Brainerd (9-11-3, 6-1-1 Central Lakes Conference) boys hockey team scored the season sweep over Alexandria (15-8, 9-3 CLC) by taking a 3-2 game on its home ice on Thursday.

The Warriors got the game-winner from Haden Kruse on the power play early in the third period after the two teams were tied 2-2 at the second intermission. Alexandria led 2-1 at one point after Caleb Strong and Derek Pesta both scored goals in the second period. Mike Laber responded at the 15-minute mark to tie the game at two apiece.

Luke Saiko got the win for the Warriors with 21 saves. Christopher Loken took the loss for the Cardinals despite 35 saves.

Alexandria will now host seventh-ranked Duluth Denfeld (16-4-1) on Friday night at the Runestone Community Center. The puck will drop at 7:15 p.m.
