The Alexandria Blizzard (16-15-2-1, 35 points) salvaged the final game in a stretch of three games in three days for the team by breezing past Breezy Point 15-1 on Saturday.
The North Stars have struggled to a 7-30-1 record this season, and the Blizzard blew the game open with eight goals in the second period. Alexandria added five more in the third frame to put the finishing touches on the win after dropping games against North Iowa (30-7-2, 62 points) on Thursday and Friday.
Ike Taraszewski had a huge game against Breezy Point with five goals and two assists. Nolan Westra added a hat trick. Evan Sivets had two goals, and Jack Taylor, Michal Trejbal, Cole Jacobs, Brandon Connett and Carter Rieland all had one goal apiece.
That made for an easy night for Ville Hyttinen in net. He got the win with 11 saves on the 12 shots he faced.
Alexandria will host New Ulm on Feb. 5 and Willmar on Feb. 8 at the Runestone Community Center. Both games start at 7:10 p.m.
