The Alexandria girls hockey team had its first road test of the season against St. Paul United on Tuesday.
The Cardinals scored three second-period goals en route to a 3-1 win over the Spartans (0-3).
Senior Mayson Toft broke the ice with a power play goal early in the second frame. Sophomore Lauren Maras and junior Marki Oberg scored before the intermission to give Alexandria a three-goal advantage.
SPU scored with under five minutes left in the game, but sophomore Jordan O’Kane’s 21 saves were enough to get Alexandria’s third win of the season. The Cardinals outshot the Spartans 41-22. Bridget Emerson made 38 saves in the loss.
On Friday, Alexandria travels to Sartell-Sauk Rapids to take on the Storm’n Sabres (1-1-1).
