Alexandria native Parker Revering won’t be far from home when be becomes part of a milestone game for the American International College men’s hockey team on Friday in Fargo.
Revering, who was a 2015 graduate in Alexandria, played in the NAHL with the Brookings Blizzard from 2015 through 2018. He was a team captain for Brookings in 2017-18. His play there earned him the opportunity to play Division I hockey for American International in Springfield, Mass., where he is now a freshman defenseman for the Yellow Jackets.
American International is making its first-ever NCAA Tournament this season by getting an automatic bid after winning the Atlantic Hockey Conference championship tournament.
The Yellow Jackets, ranked 18th in the country, are 22-16-1 overall. They will take on the No. 1 team in the country, St. Cloud State (30-5-3), on Friday night at 7:30 at Scheels Arena in Fargo during the Western Regional opener.
