Hartshorn’s 4 RBIs pace bounce-back effort for Osakis, Alexandria splits in St. Cloud

Osakis puts up double-digit runs for the fourth time this season, and Alexandria rallies late to salvage a split at St. Cloud Tech.

The Osakis softball team did not let its first loss of the season on April 30 linger as the Silverstreaks (5-1) dominated Perham in a 17-6 win in their next game back on May 4.

“We swung the bat well today with a lot of hard-hit balls,” Osakis head coach John Stigman said. “It was good to be back at full strength, especially given a lot of teams are running into COVID quarantines. This was only our second game at full strength, and I think we are learning that we have very good team depth. That’s a good sign for our team moving forward.”

Laynee Hartshorn was the catalyst against Perham (0-3) as she drove in four runs on two hits. Hartshorn doubled and tripled as part of 10 Osakis hits overall.
Hayleigh Niehoff got the win from the circle. She allowed six runs, just three earned, on nine hits, while striking out five over five innings.
