The Alexandria girls golf team dropped a Central Lakes Conference meet on Thursday as Brainerd closed the gap to two points in the overall league standings.

The Warriors shot a 318 to win in Fergus Falls, while Alexandria was six shots back at 324. Willmar was a distant third with a 354.

“This golf course in the past has yielded some low scoring,” Alexandria head coach Tim Zupfer said. “We played reasonably well, but did not convert on some of the easier holes. We could not get that second score below 80.”

Eighth-grader Hannah Boraas continues to pile up wins this season as she finished with another medalist honor by shooting a 76. She had nines of 38, 38 to extend her lead in the individual conference standings.

“Her round included two birdies and 10 pars,” Zupfer said. “She hit 12-of-18 greens in regulation, with very good ball-striking. If there was any fault in her round, it was having three 3-putt greens.”

Cora Larson shot an 82, highlighted with a back-nine score of 38 that helped her finish sixth. She had a birdie and eight pars on her card, while Lauren Rebrovich and Aisling O’Connor both shot 83 to tie for seventh. Ciara O’Connor shot an 87 and Isabella Hagen a 104 to finish off the lineup.
