Girls Golf: WCA takes third at Tipsinah
The West Central Area girls golf team took third place at Tipsinah Mounds Golf Course Monday afternoon.
For the first time this season, the Knights had a full lineup. Jessica St. Martin led WCA with her score of 92. Lexi Poyzer finished with a 104. Libby Poyzer had the third lowest score with a 107. Kate Wrolson shot a 110 to round out the top four.
The Knights collectively shot 413 — 22 strokes off the lead. Ottertail Central shot a 391 and had two of the top four golfers in the tournament. Ortonville's Mikayla Rasset had a tournament-low 85 to lead the Trojans to a second place finish.
"It's been a crazy spring weather wise. It was good to have everyone together today," WCA head coach Kari Kreft said. "We were hoping we would've finished a little better. Our goal with everyone playing at our home course was first place. We didn't make that goal today, but it makes us even more excited for next week's Quad County Conference meet on Monday."
