Through rough travel conditions, the Alexandria 12U A Hockey Team made the trek to the Minnesota State Hockey Tournament in Stillwater.
Alexandria qualified for the state tournament by getting through a tough Andover team not once but twice in the regional tournament in Anoka to qualify for the state tournament.
Alexandria opened up the state tournament with a 6-1 win over Mankato on March 17.

Henley Carlson and Alisa Johnson scored in the first period for Alexandria, while Bentley Kriel scored once in the second, and Maya Dutton did twice.
Audyn Nyberg scored the final goal of the game for Alexandria, which came in the third period. Kriel finished the game with two assists, while Carlson, Brecklyn Ellingson, Emily Doherty, and Shiloh Summer had assists in the game. Alexandria finished with a 36-21 shot on goal edge in the win.

Mary Kieffer earned the win in net for Alexandria, and she made 21 saves.
Alexandria put up a tough fight in its final two games at the tournament. Grand Rapids-Greenway edged out Alexandria 3-2 on March 18 in the state semifinals, while Farmington earned a 4-1 win on March 19.
Alexandria trailed 3-0 in the second period against GRG but came roaring back and nearly won to advance to the championship.
Dutton scored once in the middle of the second period against GRG, while Kriel scored early in the third period. Carlson and Nyberg had assists in the game.
Against Farmington, Kriel scored in the first period off assists by Claire Gimbel and Nyberg.
The team consisting of Kieffer, Doherty, Ellingson, Kriel, Nyberg, Dutton, Gimbel, Carlson, Summer, and Johnson, along with Evie Neil, Danica Waldorf, and Mariya Blakesley, accomplished their goal of making it to the state tournament and finished the season with a 38-10-3 record.

The team is head coached by Nolan Kriel, and the assistant coaches are Ben Dutton, Pat Waldorf, Jeff Doherty, Getty Johnson, and J.P. Nei.
The Alexandria 15U A girls team were also among the many Alexandria youth hockey team that also had a very successful season. The 15U A team also qualified for its state tournament in Stillwater and played in two games at the tournament.
