The Osakis girls' basketball team named Annalise Savageau its team MVP as the Silverstreaks honored many of the players responsible for a breakout season at its awards banquet on March 19.

Savageau continued to take her game to another level as a junior. She led the team with 474 points and averaged 18.2 a night. Savageau shot 50.6 percent overall and 42.2 percent from three, while also finishing with a team-high 74 steals and 31 blocks.

Savageau, Becka Sadlemyer and Brooke Sorenson were all named to the All-Prairie Conference team and Madi Forsell was an honorable-mention selection. Sadlemyer and Sorenson were both named the co-defensive player of the year by their teammates. Senior Rachelle Rajdl received the Silverstreak Award for helping Osakis both on the court and with her positive attitude on the sidelines.

Freshman Brittney Sadlemyer was honored for making an instant impact on this team by being named the most improved player. She led the team in rebounding with 137 for an average of 5.3 per game. She also poured in 155 points on 48 percent shooting. She joined Savageau on the Section 6AA West All-Tournament time.

As good as the Silverstreaks were on the court, they might have been better off it where Osakis finished with a team GPA of 3.779. Seniors Dani Chisholm, Rajdl and Becka Sadlemyer were academic all-state. Johanna Boogaard, Mackenzie Staloch, Alexa Hoffarth, Forsell, Sorenson, Savageau and Mikayla Wolbeck all joined them on the academic all-conference team with GPAs of 3.7 or higher.
