The Brandon-Evansville football team lost a lot of its senior leadership and depth from last season's Section 4, 9-man runner up team. With many new Charger faces on the field, the Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley Wolverines took care of business with a 20-6 win on Friday afternoon.

The Chargers got behind the eight ball early after CGB punched in a rushing score midway through the first quarter. Quarterback Kobie Reiland would tie the game 6-6 with a rushing touchdown of his own 11 minutes before halftime.

CGB began to pull away in the third quarter. The Wolverines added a 57-yard rushing score in their opening drive in the second half. Eight minutes later, they punched in another at the goal line to take a 14-point lead. CGB's defense held the Chargers to 143 yards of total offense on 55 plays.

"Hats off to CGB, they played tough, physical and fast," B-E head coach Tim Pattrin said. "We need to raise our level of play this week and get ready for another physical opponent. We will learn from this and move forward."

The Chargers offense was stagnant for most of the game. B-E averaged 2.6-yards per play with only 108 rushing yards. Running back Tyler Bitzan had 18 carries for 78 yards. Reiland was 4-12 passing for 35 yards with an interception.
