Endres, Swerman, Hagen All-CLC for Alexandria

Senior Elijah Holthaus and juniors Will Suchy, JD Hennen and Devin Cimbura were honorable-mention All-CLC selections.

The Alexandria baseball team finished 9-5 in the Central Lakes Conference and had three players named to the All-CLC team in Shay Endres, Devan Swerman and Lake Hagen.

Endres was the Cardinals’ ace on the mound this past season. The senior led Alexandria with 45.2 innings pitched on his way to a 6-3 record with 64 strikeouts and a 1.69 ERA.

Swerman hit at a .333 clip with a .410 on-base percentage. The senior had 16 RBIs and 17 runs scored, good for first and second on the team in those categories, respectively. He also threw 26.1 innings with 26 strikeouts and a 3.19 ERA.

Hagen, a junior catcher, had a team-best .412 batting average in 34 at-bats with a .474 on-base percentage. He added six RBIs in addition to his role in anchoring the defense behind the plate.

Senior Elijah Holthaus and juniors Will Suchy, JD Hennen and Devin Cimbura were honorable-mention All-CLC selections.

Suchy was second on the team in innings pitched at 28. He posted a 4.25 ERA with 38 strikeouts. Hennen had a 1.66 ERA and 18 strikeouts in 12.2 innings, and he also hit .358 with 10 RBIs and 15 runs scored.
Holthaus had a team-best 18 runs scored to go with a .324 average and 10 RBIs. Cimbura had some big hits during Alexandria’s strong run to end the season as he finished with a batting average of .302 on the season with 14 RBIs.

The Cardinals had not handed out their team awards by the time this section of the Echo Press was put together. Those award winners will run in a future issue when they become available.
