Chelle Dewey is in her first season leading the West Central Area girls golf team and has a young nucleus to work with.

Sophomore Lexi Hunter is the lone returning letter winner from two seasons ago. Senior Chloe LaRue and junior Jenna Johnsrud are others in the upper grade levels for a WCA team that has freshmen Annie Engen, Chloe Hagen, 8th-graders Donia Hale, Steph Reeve, Joelle Toso, Aubrie Schroeder and Mylee Loe and 7th-grade Jenna Lang as key newcomers.

“We are looking for (Lexi Hunter) to lead our team,” Dewey said. “We have a young team, but filled with girls who have experience. I am happy that we have a good number of girls this year with 11 girls.”

The Knights play in the Quad County Conference with Ashby, Underwood, Hillcrest Lutheran, Rothsay, Ottertail Central, Long Prairie-Grey Eagle-Browerville, Ortonville, Border West and Pillager. West Central Area is also moving from Section 5A to Section 6A this season.
