The Alexandria boys swimming and diving team wrapped up a strong season this winter by naming its team award winners for 2008-09.
Brian Storhaug was named the team's most valuable swimmer for his efforts in helping the Cardinals to an 8-2 overall record.
Dylan Johnson was named the team's most improved swimmer, while Jeff Allen and Sam Vinje earned the Hardest Worker Award and Coach's Award, respectively.
The Alexandria roster was loaded with swimmers who proved they could compete with some of the best that the Central Lakes Conference had to offer this season. Allen, Storhaug, Vinje, Ben Vogeler and Aaron Rooney were all named all-conference performers.
Rooney was the team's lone representative at the state tournament. He finished 22nd in the diving preliminaries, less than four points away from advancing.
