Card Nordic skiing: Sieling, Lovrien lead skiers at St. Cloud race

The Cardinal Nordic ski teams are getting quite familiar with the Riverside Park in St. Cloud.

The boys' and girls' teams were there for the third time this season on Tuesday as they took part in the St. Cloud Cathedral Invite. Julia Sieling set the tone for the Alexandria girls with a 10th place finish in the 5K race. She crossed the finish line in a time of 21:03.

Melissa Gromatka, Leah Stinson and Katie Lovrien rounded out the Alexandria varsity. Gromatka finished in 22 minutes, while Stinson and Lovrien crossed in 27:40 and 24:45, respectively.

The Alexandria boys finished fifth as a team behind Jimmy Lovrien. Lovrien was the top Card finisher with a time of 18:13. Tyler Johnson also finished in less than 19 minutes with a time of 18:38. Todd Johnson was third for Alexandria with a time of 19:58, while Cody Call rounded out the Cardinal varsity in 20:07.
