The Cardinal girls hockey team went into the Christmas break on a three-game losing streak after falling 2-1 against St. Cloud last Tuesday.
The Icebreakers went up 2-0 before Alexandria found some offense in the third period. Rachael Finley scored off an assist from Alia Kopischke to cut the St. Cloud lead in half. The Cardinals had opportunities down the stretch but could not find the goal to tie things up.
Lindsey Lien took the tough-luck loss in net. She saved 28 of the 30 shots sent her way. The Cardinals are 7-5-1 and have two weeks off over the holidays before they welcome Brainerd-Little Falls to town on January 4.
