Lauren and Sam Trumm led the Cardinal girls to their third straight win to start the season last Thursday with a 77-69 win at St. Cloud Tech.
The Trumms each had 28 points for Alexandria. Sam added 10 rebounds for a double-double, while Lauren came close with eight boards.
The Cardinals used their usual defensive pressure to wreak havoc on the 0-5 Tigers. Alli Haar, Cara Wood and both the Trumms finished with five steals apiece.
"We brought the intensity on the boards and were in attack mode all night," head coach Wendy Kohler said. "Which was key against a team that was in our face all night. The coaching staff loved how the Cardinal girls competed last night, diving for loose balls, pounding the boards and getting after it on defense."
That has been the Cardinals' trademark through the beginning portion of the schedule. So far, so good for a team that moved to 3-0 with the win.
