Card girls' basketball: Holiday tournament opens today

The Cardinals will be the only undefeated team in the Alexandria girls' basketball holiday tournament set for today, Wednesday, and tomorrow, Thursday, at Jefferson High School.

The Cardinals will be the only undefeated team in the Alexandria girls' basketball holiday tournament set for today, Wednesday, and tomorrow, Thursday, at Jefferson High School.

The Redbirds are 4-0, while Marshall is 3-1, Robbinsdale Armstrong stands at 2-6 and defending champion Moorhead is 0-7.

None of the teams are ranked in the most recent state polls.

Varsity action begins at 6 p.m. Wednesday between Marshall and Moorhead, with Alexandria and Armstrong meeting at 7:30 p.m.

The consolation game will be played Thursday at 5 p.m. and the championship game will be at 6:30 p.m.

The junior varsity tournament will be held on the same days, with first round action on Wednesday beginning with Armstrong and Alexandria at 2 p.m. and Marshall and Moorhead at 3:30 p.m.

The JV consolation game will be Thursday at 1 p.m. with the championship played at 2:30 p.m.
