The Alexandria boys' basketball team got a big night from Parker Giroux as the Cardinals secured their second straight win in the Central Lakes Conference last Thursday night.
Giroux poured in 30 points as he led his team to a 57-44 win over Sauk Rapids-Rice. The Storm were searching for their first win of the season on their home court but could not contain Alexandria's senior guard.
The Cardinal defense locked down the Storm in the first half. They held Sauk Rapids to 15 points before the break. That allowed them to build an 18-point lead by halftime. The Storm outscored Alexandria 29-24 in the second half, but it was too little, too late.
