The Alexandria boys' basketball team extended its winning streak to three games with a 52-42 victory at Sartell on Monday night.
The Cardinals built a 10-point lead early and held on late to secure the win. The Sabres closed that gap to four by the break but were outscored 28-22 over the final 18 minutes.
"[We] controlled the second half with tough defense, making points hard to come by for Sartell," head coach Forrest Witt said.
Parker Giroux and Dylan Galligan led the way on the offensive end. Giroux finished with 22 points, while Galligan poured in 11. Patrick Fischer was the only Sartell player in double figures with 11.
The Cardinals will wrap up the regular season with a home game against Rocori tonight, Friday. The Spartans are right in front of Alexandria in the Central Lakes Conference standings with an 11-5 record. The Cardinals enter with a 10-7 league mark.
