The Brandon-Evansville baseball team moved a doubleheader with West Central Area up one day to avoid the rains that came on May 27, and the Chargers put away 15-4 and 13-3 wins to wrap up their regular season.

Brandon-Evansville had 14 hits in game two. Hunter Koep, Jayden Hoidahl, Riley Perleberg and Brady Perleberg all had hits in a five-run third inning that opened the game up. Brady Perleberg and Carter White each had three hits in the 13-3 win to lead the way.

Tyler Bitzan went four strong innings on the mound to get the win, while WCA’s Colton Lindquist took the loss. Bitzan scattered three hits and a walk while putting up four scoreless innings. Lindquist had two hits for the Knights offensively.

“Tyler Bitzan gave us four quality innings and the offense did their job, which allowed us to put together an early lead. I was extremely happy to see the defense play errorless ball,” B-E head coach Brian Perleberg said. “Everyone made major contributions in one way or another, including the guys who came off the bench. It was a true team win and hopefully we can carry some of this momentum into the playoffs next week.”

B-E had 10 hits in the 15-4, game-one win. Kyle Schaffran, Brady Perleberg and Hoidahl all had multiple hits in the game, with Schaffran going 3-for-5 at the plate and adding four stolen bases.

Dezmond White got the win on the mound after going three innings. He struck out three, allowing two runs on four WCA hits. Jordan Lohse went 3-for-3 to lead WCA’s offense.

The Chargers are 14-6, and the Knights are 5-14. Both turn their attention to the Section 6A Tournament now, with the section being officially seeded by the QRF through Minnesota-scores.net on May 28. Opening-round games are scheduled for June 1.
