The Brandon-Evansville baseball team improved to 12-5 on May 20, and the Chargers did it with ease in a 13-0 win at St. John’s Prep in five innings.

Kyle Schaffran and Tyler Bitzan were part of a big day at the plate for the Chargers. Schaffran was 3-for-3 with two doubles and three runs scored, while Bitzan drove in four runs on two hits. That made things easier for Jayden Hoidahl on the mound as Hoidahl and Brady Perleberg combined for the shutout against the Johnnies (2-10).

“Both Jayden and Brady pitched very well, collecting eight strikeouts between the two of them in a 5-inning game,” B-E head coach Brian Perleberg said. “Kyle Schaffran turned in an excellent catch in center field that resulted in a double play and the offense was putting some good swings on the ball.”

The Chargers will play at Parkers Prairie (6-9) on Monday, May 24, at 5 p.m. against the Panthers in a Section 6A contest.
