The Brandon-Evansville softball team swept Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley on Friday night and clinched a share of the Pheasant Conference title.

The Chargers (15-3, 11-1 Pheasant) extended their winning streak to four games with a pair of one-run victories over the Wolverines (10-5). With at least one win in a doubleheader against Ashby on May 25, B-E would clinch the conference title outright for a seventh straight season.

B-E took game two by a score of 4-3. Senior Bailey Schaefer got on base early with a double before scoring on a single from senior Mikenna Pattrin. Kiley Lund delivered a two-RBI single to cap off a three-run first inning.

CBG finally got on the board with a run in the top of the sixth inning, but the Chargers responded with another RBI single from Pattrin. Sydney Schaefer caught the final out in center field to halt the two-run rally from the Wolverines in the last inning.

CBG’s seventh-inning push was the second time the Chargers fended off the Wolverines’ final push on Friday. With one out, Lara Botker belted a three-run home run to pull CGB within one, but Pattrin got the last two outs to win 5-4.

Four of B-E’s five runs came in the first two innings. Korrie Randt hit a sharp single in the second inning before Kaytlyn Pattrin reached base on a bunt. Sydney Schaefer drove in both with a single to take a 4-1 lead.

Mikenna Pattrin allowed three earned runs on eight hits and struck out eight batters.
