Boys' basketball: Knight boys fall to Rebels

The West Central Area boys' basketball team kept it close but could not get over the hump in a 76-67 loss to Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton on Tuesday night.

The West Central Area boys' basketball team kept it close but could not get over the hump in a 76-67 loss to Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton on Tuesday night.

The Knights held a 20-19 lead midway through the first half. That is the last lead they would hold, though, as the Rebels went on a 26-18 run to end the half and take a seven-point lead into the break.

West Central Area was able to keep in close throughout the second half, but could not get a big basket to get it within a one-possession game. The Rebels pulled away down the stretch to win their fourth straight game.

"We were within a couple of possessions throughout the game but could never get that good possession to take the lead," Knights' head coach Kraig Hunter said. "We needed to have a few smarter possessions in the second half. We got away from getting the ball inside and it resulted in lower percentage shots. But the kids competed extremely hard. It was a physical Heart O' Lakes Conference battle from both teams."

Sam Richards led the WCA attack with 25 points. Alan Strom was the only other Knight player in double figures with 18.
