The Blizzard suffered a second period meltdown and saw their winning streak come to an end Tuesday night as they fell to the Aberdeen Wings 5-4.
Aberdeen, which scored the only goal of the first period, got hot in the second and added three unanswered goals for a 4-0 lead before Alexandria found a way to score.
Alex Altenbernd slipped the puck past goaltender March Zelzer on assists by Steve Zierke and Jacob Meyers as the Blizzard skated short-handed.
The Wings managed their fourth goal at the 16:02 mark to make the score 5-1, but Alexandria charged forward with a flurry of offense, scoring the final three goals of the game as Nardo Nagtzaam, Jordan Nelson and Paul LaDue firing in shots.
Aberdeen was able to hold off the Blizzard in the final two and a half minutes of the game to eke out the one-goal victory.
