Benson beats Osakis ahead of section meet

Osakis drops its fin al match of the regular season Benson-Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg.

The Osakis boys tennis team suffered a hard-fought 6-1 loss at Benson-Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg on Friday night.

Sophomore Isaac Maddock picked up the team’s only win in No. 1 singles over Taylor Duncan 6-1, 6-0. Benson-KMS’ Peyton and Hunter LeClair swept Osakis’ Bryce Moen and Jacob Taplin in Nos. 2 and 3 singles.

Logan Grove and Jacob Uhl suffered a 6-4, 6-3 loss in No. 1 doubles while Tyler Stier and Micah Moore came up a few games short in No. 3 doubles. Osakis finished the regular season 2-11, and will play Thief River Falls in the first round of the Section 8A tournament.
