Bass are biting

The Alexandria area has been a great bass-fishing destination in recent years and June should be another good month locally for those who are after largemouth and smallmouth.

Taylor Lake caught and released a couple largemouths on Lake Minnewaska on May 27 that weighed 4.25 and 3 pounds.

Owen Tyler, 12-years old from Ramsey, caught this 4-pound largemouth on an Alexandria area lake while fishing on May 29, and Zoey Garin caught her first bass of the year recently with a little help from her dog on the dock. Evan Blanchard, age 9, also did well while fishing on Lake Darling this year.
