The Ashby boys basketball team used a fast start to roll past Battle Lake on Friday night in a 61-35 win over the Battlers (5-11, 3-6 Little Eight Conference).

The Arrows (13-7, 9-1 LEC) led 17-2 and 23-4 before taking a 20-point lead into halftime.

“We did a good job playing passing lanes and got some easy baskets on steals,” Ashby head coach John Holsten said. “We just played really good team basketball on both ends.”

Battle Lake senior guard Riley Leabo had a game-high 25 points behind four threes.

“We couldn’t guard him,” Holsten said.

The Arrows had more depth as Jaden Norby and Jacob Cook both had 16 points. Cook added five rebounds, and Norby finished with 10 rebounds, three assists and seven steals.
