The Brandon-Evansville girls basketball team stayed perfect in the Little Eight Conference with a 62-44 win against Ashby on Monday night.

The Chargers (9-5, 5-0 LEC) led the Arrows (3-10, 1-5 LEC) 37-14 at the break. Ashby outscored Brandon-Evansville by five after halftime, but it was too little, too late.

“I was happy with our team free-throw shooting tonight, and not so happy with our lack of moving our feet defensively, which led to us committing some silly fouls,” B-E head coach Zach Traphagen said. “Credit to the scrappy play of Ashby. They have some real quickness on their team. We get two days to rest up and get some things ironed out in practice before welcoming a Battle Lake team that’s playing strong as of late.”

The Chargers got all 12 players in the game on a night when nine of them scored.

Bailey Schaefer continued her strong play of late with a team-high 19 points to go with six rebounds. Mikenna Pattrin had 11 points and Caitlyn Deschene had 10 points, four rebounds and three steals.
