The Ashby girls basketball team is looking to take a step forward with experience in the starting lineup.
Seniors Courtney Koefod, Kalista Aamot and sophomore Celi Nelson started last season for the Arrows. Koefod passed the 1,000-point scoring mark for her career last winter. Despite going 6-19, head coach Alan Niemann believes they bring quickness and good shooting to a young roster.
Niemann said the goal for the Arrows is to finish in the top three in the conference with a winning record. In the Section 6A tournament, he is hoping to see his girls win two or more games.
Niemann said the Arrows need to be better on defense and rebounding the ball if they want to have a chance against Parkers Prairie, Underwood and other top teams in the Section 6A South.
