In a game that could be a Section 6A championship preview, the Ada-Borup-Norman County West girls basketball team had a little bit more than Parkers Prairie at Concordia College in Moorhead on Saturday night.
The Cougars are 18-2 and ranked sixth in the Feb. 6 Minnesota Basketball News polls. The only team in front of them in the 6A North QRF rankings is Pelican Rapids (19-1).
Ada-Borup-NCW handed the Panthers (16-2) just their second loss of the season in a tight contest all night that ended in a 54-49 final. Ada-Borup led 22-21 at the half and put up 32 second-half points to create just enough distance.
Cougars’ senior guard Mariah McKeever led all scorers with 21. Megan Blake and Faith Alberts both had 15 points for the Panthers.
